Yes, saves lives: With all its imperfections, psa is still the best surrogate marker. There is next generation psa testing coming in the future. Screening alone, without treating does not save lives. A recent published article from united kingdom demonstrates this concept beautifully. Some argue we may be overtreating in the usa. But certainly screening and treating saves lives.
