Yes, but . . .: An over-the-counter home pregnancy test is the easiest way to check for pregnancy (the tests are very accurate, and are positive very early in the pregnancy). A vaginal ultrasound can detect an embryo or fetus after a few weeks of pregnancy (after the urine test is already positive), probably around 5-6 weeks of pregnancy.
