It depends!: If you are having any symptoms concerning for an ectopic such as abdominal pain or vaginal bleeding then an ultrasound would be needed emergently. However, if you feel good and are not experiencing any symptoms then ultrasound can be done at a later date.

You don't: necessarily need an ultrasound on the same day you test positive for a pregnancy. Talk to your doc about next steps.
