None is normal: Although many people suffer from reflux, it's still not normal. Begin by avoiding spicy foods for a time, limiting any caffeine intake (which decreases the time of the hatch separating the food pipe from the stomach), stop smoking if you smoke, and finally resist urge to eat after 6pm at night. If these conservative measures don't help then see a doctor.
