Vitamin D: Deficiency can be a cause for depressive symptoms. It will take a while to normalize Vitamin D levels. In meantime consider therapy and possibly psychotropic medications. Take care.

Malabsorbtion: of B12 can cause depression. Malabsorbtion of Vit D can also. In fact malabsorbtion of lots of essential nutrients can cause mood issues and even psychosis and dementia. (as seen with thiamine deficiency) Be sure to have your therapist and doctor track both the depression and the recovery from the deficiency.
