A member asked:

Can a clot cause a bulge exclusive to the hamstring? i.e., bigger hamstring but thigh/quads normal.

Very unusual: There are only two deep veins in the thigh, the femoral and deep femoral veins . Neither deep veins run in the hamstring muscle. A blood clot in either of these vein would cause swelling in the leg generally. It is possible to have a clot in a superficial vein that is over the hamstring however superficial blood clots do not generally cause swelling.
