How unhealthy is it to live in a home where nothing is ever dusted? carpets are rarely vacuumed as well.

Depends: Not really unhealthy unless you have sensitivities or allergies to dust, dust mites, animal dander, then it can be a problem and you would know it due to symptoms of allergies (runny, itchy nose and eyes, cough, congestion, wheezing, trouble breathing). I hope this question is not going to be used to make someone in your home clean better ( a little humor). Good hygiene and cleanliness important
