Not cancer: This is a highly unlikely presentation for cancer. More likely related to mild inflammation inside the ear or skin of the ear or scalp. There are lymph nodes there which may become swollen as well. If pain persists more than a few days, see your doctor or ENT doctor for further assessment. Warm compresses may help.

Doubt it!: Not every hurt or pain is due to cancer. So just relax and be more optimistic as cancer in young people is a rare disease. More than 99% of such pains are from benign causes, many of them trivial. So you should monitor this pain and see if it is getting worse or better. if it is getting worse, go see your family doctor for a physical exam. A couple of Tylenol (acetaminophen) pills can help yr pain,if needed.
