Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine): should probably be tapered if you wish to come off it. This creates a problem should you become pregnant. You are 14-18 days into pregnancy, typically, by the time you become aware of a missed period. Three days later in embryogenisis (day 21 of the pregnancy) the neural tube is beginning to close. So you would only have 3 days to do a rapid taper to avoid the risk of neural tube birth defects.

Depends: That is one possibility, the other is to try going without medication and using other stategies before becoming pregnant as that alone is a big adjustment for most. Best of luck!

The problem is that: most women don't know the day they conceive.. The fetal brain starts forming at 3 weeks post-conception; other organs form between 3-8 weeks. Animal studies show possible harm to fetuses. Take Adderall in pregnancy only if your need outweighs the risk to the fetus. If you can, access therapy & have environmental supports at home & work, instead of meds. Start a daily folate (folic acid) supplement now.
