No: We can see vomiting and diarrhea as a side effect of the Rotarix, but this episode seems severe to be a vaccine reaction. I would not skip the second dose of either of these vaccines. Pneumococcus vaccine prevents meningitis, pneumonia and even ear infections. And the Rotarix will prevent hospital stays from Rotavirus. The Benefit is still greater than the risk of vaccine!

No, but ask the Dr.: Many babies get vomiting and diarrhea. That is why the Rotarix vaccine was created, to decrease the number of cases and the severity of cases of dysentery. Only if the dysentery was shown to be caused by the vaccines, would one have to be concerned about future doses. Babies can get illnesses before, during, and after their check-up and vaccination dates... almost always just as a coincidence.

Side effects: What you describe is not an expected side effect from vaccines. Also, it is never a good idea to delay vaccines. I would suggest you sit down with your health care giver and discuss.
