Complicated: Your doctor should follow up on this scan with you. I can't tell you definitively what those lymph nodes mean -- i'd need to know why you got the scan in the first place, what your flank plain was all about, what your other symptoms are and what your blood tests show. Prominent abd LN's: Might be time for a PET scan or other fancier imaging. Prominent, but not enlarged, can still be significant. Your pain is there for a reason. If no kidney or ureteral stones, then other explanations should be considered. Lymph nodes can be reactive due to infection or prominent due to sarcoidosis or even malignant spread of a primary cancer. Laparoscopic biopsy can be helpful.
