Head injury: Mild injuries to the head are very superficial-ranging from a superficial cut to hematoma. Sometimes exposure to the injured area can cause an increased vaso-vagal reflex that can manifest as feeling lightheaded, syncope, somnolence, nausea and vomiting. If these symptoms persist greater than an hour, he needs to be evaluated by a physician to rule out any intra-cranial processes-bleed,concussion.
