What causes flatulence? and how can it be stopped

1st, why RU gassy?: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks). Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.

Tricky to stop ...: Carbon dioxide and methane are naturally produced by the gut flora (bacteria) that live in our intestines. Flatulence is the release of this excess gas / wind. The flatulence from vegetables may be contributed by high 'FODMAP' foods; fermentable carbohydrates that contribute to gas production. You could choose some low 'FODMAP' options; see http://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/
