Just theory; see MD: Are you a frequent drinker? Heavy drinker? Binge drink? Eat poorly? Were you immobile for a long time? Pain under the rib cage makes me think either acute alcohol-induced hepatitis, chronic fatty liver or possible PE (pulmonary embolus). Foot swelling is consistent with venous insufficiency, hypoalbuminuria (unhappy liver/malnutrition) & maybe even DVT (deep venous thrombosis; a risk for PE).
