Need exam: It would be impossible to reassure you that a pain in the L side is nothing to worry about without more history, and exam. If the pain is minimal then, get it checked out in a few days, if it is worsening or there are other symptoms, then you should be checked earlier.

More info: While I'd be happy to provide more guidance, unfortunately with the limited information provided, the possibilities remain quite broad. I'm assuming you mean the left side of your torso/back and not chest, as if this is the case, it could be related to increased tone in of the core stabilizing muscles, coming from your kidney or even from your spine itself. Just some of the possibilities.
