Prolonged "period": "Menstrual" bleeding if prolonged may indicate pregnancy, miscarriage, or more seriously an ectopic pregnancy outside the womb. Get a serum HCG pregnancy test to be certain. If negative, see your healthcare provider for advice and additional testing.
