Pulse: What you are feeling when you are feeling the pulse is the pulse pressure. It is possible to have a high systolic and also a high diastolic with a narrow pulse pressure and generate a smaller sensation than a normal systolic and normal or wide pulse pressure. That said, it is an oversimplification and isn't strictly correct in every physiologic situation.
