Needs a "look/see": The recurrence of heartburn while on PPH (Proton Pump Inhibitors) like PriloSec requires evaluation by a Gastroenterologist who will most likely want to do endoscopic evaluation of your symptoms. Hope this helps Dr Z

I have had bad heartburn and GERD for about a month now. Was on Prilosec for 2 weeks, stopped. Smoked for 2 days after, felt abdomen pain and esophagus restriction, etc. No longer smoking. And more heartburn. Hiatal hernia maybe? Does it heal itself?
