Starting Clomid (clomiphene): Good morning, Irene, Before starting Clomid (clomiphene), (clomiphene) most practitioners will check progesterone (which indicates whether ovulation has occurred or not) and hCG (pregnancy test) levels. Estradiol (showing possible follicle activity) and ultrasound evaluation are also commonly done. If you had these done and they suggest the beginning of a cycle, Clomid (clomiphene) is ok to start. Please talk with your doc to discuss.
