A member asked:

Can a paraganglioma in the carotid artery be functional and symptomatic? i have a ball there over 5cm. it feels attached to the muscle, not a lipoma

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Needs to be checked: Yes, it is possible, but most of them are asymptomatic. If it is growing, you should go to a head and Neck Cancer specialist and get it further evaluated and properly measured with an X-ray or ultrasound so that it can be closely monitored for further growth and need for surgical excision sometime in the future.
