Treatments...: Copd, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is not curable but it is treatable. Smoking cessation is vital to decrease airway inflammation and slow disease progression. Other treatments include bronchodilator and steroid inhalers as well as oxygen therapy, if the systemic oxygen level is low enough to warrant it.

Improving treatment: The latest treatments have become once a day combination therapy. Unfortunately still no cure for this problem wit airway damage but can prolong the progression of diasability by up to a decade or more which can be very helpful.
