In fact, Trileptal is successfully used to TREAT tinnitus in patients but that is not unusual that the same drug used to treat people for a symptom can cause the symptom in others..

Tinnitus: Tinnitus is not listed as a side effect of these but any drug could be a cause. On the other hand tinnitus is quite common and it is more likely not caused by either of these.
