Yes: In fact when a contraction stops it leaves more room for movement. I generally tell my term patients to do kick counts at home. While baby will sleep more at term, eating a meal should result in 6-10 movements the hour after you eat. If that's not happening alert your OB/midwife that day so an NST (non stress test) can be done.
