Dentist/neurologist: One can get lightheaded from many causes including hyperventilation from anxiety. Temporomandibular disorder from teeth clenching or grinding can also cause lightheadedness . However given the problem has been present for 6 years I would suggest that you ask your dentist to check your jaw first and then seek a neurology consult if that is not the issue.
