No: It is not uncommon to get cramping on either side or in the midline after sex when you are pregnant. Seminal fluid has prostaglandins which cause the cramping.

No: at 5 weeks of pregnancy you may still have a pregnancy cyst of one ovary. possibly it could hurt during relations. generally, i tell patients to stop if pain occurs and wait a few days. advil (ibuprofen) is ok to take. in few instances, a tubal pregnancy will cause one sided pain, but usually further along in the pregnancy. if the pain is severe, see the doctor for an ultrasound and serial HCG levels
