Is ultrasound ever used on the bottom of the heel to check for injuries, or problematic veins and arteries? heel pain, orthotics don't help. no spur.

Yes: ultrasound can assess the plantar fascia for abnormalities like plantar fasciitis and fibromatosis. It can also assess for nerve problems that can cause heel pain. However, you have to find someone who is experienced in using ultrasound for that purpose and this is not always easy. Recommend that whoever you see is registered for musculoskeletal ultrasound. They should have an RMSK certificate.
