Lymph nodes: The lumps you are talking about sound like lymph nodes. They can take some months to go down from their reactive state back to normal. Probably the infection has gone away, but the reactive nodes remain. As long as things are not getting worse and they are not painful, observation is probably ok. Have his pediatrician examine and evaluate.
