Good question: Why are peanut allergies so severe? A fair question, though realize ANY food allergy can be severe, meaning causing severe symptoms. Allergy tests identify the LIKELIHOOD of a reaction, but do not tell you SEVERITY of the reaction. Factors such as uncontrolled asthma, active virus, amount ingested, perhaps vomiting can affect severity.
