Had ct with contrast this morning. now my mid back is achy. worried of kidney damage. chances and symptoms? anything i can do to help

No worries: We do a good job these days screening patients' kidney function before we give contrasts. Chance of the one dye administration causing kidney issues is very low and would not cause you back pain anyway. Your pain is probably musculoskeletal from laying on the test table. Avoid taking any NSAIDS for the pain but can use Tylenol (acetaminophen) and stay well hydrated.
