Undescended testes: If the penis is present and normal in size, then he most likely has undescended testicles. The doctor may have or will order an ultrasound to locate the testicles inside the abdomen. If they are present, he will schedule surgery before age 2. If they can't find the testicles and the penis is too small, it may be a hormonal problem. You need to ask your pediatric urologist and pediatrician.

Depends: The findings of any study depends on how far they took it. A simple karyotype will give you confirmation of sex and the proper number of pairs of chromosomes. A normal simple karyotype tells you there is no Down syndrome or similar issue when the number of chromosomes is wrong.Genetic analysis can go much further when needed.I doubt they would look without a specific request.
