A member asked:

It is common for diabetic leg pain to be as high as the thigh area or it is mainly isolated to the feet?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Diabetic neuropathy: Most commonly it is in a "stocking" distribution, feet ankles. However it can go much higher. You should talk to your doctor about this. If this is diabetic neuropathy, good glycemic control and medications are important. Other types of neuropathy can involve motor and sensory nerves. However, other possibilities include nerve root/disk disease, or other neurologic problems.
