See below.: Symptoms of pink eye(conjunctivitis) usually start 24 to 48 hours after exposure to someone else (or their secretions) with it. Symptoms can include redness, itching and discharge (drainage). Conjunctivitis can be caused by a virus (most common), bacteria or an irritant or allergen. Your child should be seen by her doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
