Totally safe: It's normal, healthy, and physiologic for your BP to rise with activity and stress. Think about it: you know exercise is good for you, but running most certainly raises your BP. Hypertension, the disease, is present when your RESTING BP is abnormally elevated. Evolution built us to escape a chasing lion.

Prehypertensive: Is this a real question? If you are concerned that watching scary movies may be unhealthy, please avoid them. If you are "pre-hypertensive" due to obesity or lack of activity, please increase your physical activity and eat a healthy diet as well as following with your doctor.
