Seroquel (quetiapine): Its not known whether seroquel (quetiapine) causes thyroid dysfinction.. Before starting medication make sure thyroid levels r good. Seroquel (quetiapine) can cause weight gain. Its an antipsychotic drug. Weight gain inturn leads to insulin resistance . Avoid alcohol use when taking seroquel (quetiapine) . Alcohol can raise seroquel (quetiapine) levels and can cause toxicity
