A member asked:

Blood results say hyperthyroid if no nodules & no palpable enlarged thyroid what's the cause? adenoids/other in the neck press on thyroid cause probs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hyperthyroidism: occurs in a certain percentage or people without known cause, although many causes are of immune origin. It tends to run in families and is most common in young women, but can occur in either sex at any age.. Nothing in your neck caused it. If the diagnosis is confirmed, make sure it's treated properly.
