It's normal: The contraceptive, Depo Provera, (medroxyprogesterone) inhibits egg maturation and hence ovulation. Because it is a progesterone it may cause the lining of your uterus to become thin thus there is no 'build up' or thickening of the lining (endometrium). Since there is no significant 'build up' there is nothing or very little to shed. This shedding is your period. So you may not get you periods or it may be spotting.
