Drug allergies : You really should see dermatologist. There are several different creams, most of them contain steroids, over the counter hydrocortisone may work, but strength may not be right. So the best creams would be special preparation by dermatologist prescription

Just asking...: What was the amoxicillin treating? When did the rash start? While it could be a drug allergy, the peeling could be the result of scarlet fever (strep infection). If you were on amox for strep throat then developed a fine rash (like "sandpaper"), then the peeling skin is normal progression. You can see your doc or dermatologist to help with the intense itching etc. True allergy is important to ID.
