May not be a keloid: Not being able to examine your scar it is not possible to tell you if it is really a keloid. Itching can be pretty common in any scar as it heals, keloids too. The major symptom of a keloid is that it enlarges beyond the margins of the original injury.

How old is your scar: Itching and mild thickening can be a normal healing process with fresh scars. Keloids are excess scar growth beyond the margins and persist well beyond the initial healing phase.They can be itchy but not always.
