Colitis : There are several forms of colitis: infectious due to different bacteria or viruses, inflammatory such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, ischemic colitis due to poor blood supply. All of the above forms of colitis can cause diarrhea and fevers. To make a diagnosis which form is present often requires stool cultures, CT scan and possibly colonoscopy
