: Unless it was bloody, it most likely was congealed mucus. Follow a soft,bland diet (no roughage). Drink plenty of fluids, not ice cold, to prevent dehydration. Take Imodium according to instructions. If diarrhea doesn't subside, a warm fresh stool specimen should be cultured to check for pathogens.
