It could be a very minor thing that will be gone before you have an appointment but that's okay. It could be something worth identifying and treating, but it's not possible to even narrow choices w/out an exam. Sorry.

If you have: a sore throat (and not just problems swallowing) you've likely caught a bug. Check your temperature with a thermometer and force fluids. If you have high fever, puss in the back of the throat or develop a productive cough, see a doctor for some medication, maybe a blood test. Assume you have the flu, mono or some other condition you could give to others until the situation becomes more obvious.
