See your doctor: This is likely an anal fissure or hemorrhoids, although a change in bowel movements with pain can imply something more serious. Make sure to consume adequate fiber and drink plenty of water. Check for bleeding and see your doctor if symptoms do not resolve.

Anal fissure: You probably have a tear in the tender skin of the anus. Stool softeners and Vaseline can sometimes help, but if it persists, see you doctor!

Constipation: Sounds like it is an anal fissure, and the pain associated with having a bowel movement can be from the fissure, which also can go with constipation. Try avoiding binding foods, like rice and bananas, apples and dairy and go with more prunes and pears. If persists then might need stool softeners and/or Miralax (polyethylene glycol).
