Swollen upper lip: You may be having an allergic reaction to something you have eaten.Take Benadryl (diphenhydramine). If no relief head for the ER

Sudden swelling: is concerning for an allergic reaction. Oral Benedryl or the generic equivalent is usually recommended as a first line treatment. If this has been caused by an allergy, it should reduce with this medication. Progressive symptoms such as difficulty swallowing or breathing, increased swelling of the lips and face, or other new symptoms would require emergent treatment (meaning go to the ER!).
