You get tested: Hi. Fortunately, pancreatic cancer is rare...but not rare enough. A CT of your pancreas will determine the presence of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (we're not considering pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors in a case like this). But be aware that most Americans have back pain and fortunately, very, very few of them have it because of pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Get an abdominal CT if indicated. Good luck

Backpain: Back pain can arise from the skin, bone, joints, muscles, kidneys, their linings, pancreas etc. When we work on the differential diagnosis, many factors in history and physical exams are considered. Age, risk factors, onset of pain quality and duration and associated findings. Not every back pain are from pancreatic cancer.
