Many possibilities: If your brother was about your age when his colon cancer was discovered you definitely need a colonoscopy. Good idea: Recommendations for colon cancer screening is to get one at 50 yrs old. A lesser known rec involves patients with a First degree family relative with colon cancer- a screening colonoscopy within 10 years of the relative's diagnosis is recommended if you are younger than 50 yr old.
