Yup: smoking increases the risk of plaque rupture, whereby even a small bit of plaque in the artery cracks open and becomes a sudden blood clot in the artery - resulting in a "heart attack" - this can happen at a young age, even if other risks are ok. smoking increases this risk 300% over baseline. i agree with the previous commenter - stop smoking !
