Need an evaluation: It's not normal to have visible blood in the toilet and upon wiping. This could be related to hemorrhoids, an anal fissure or other problems like inflammation of the lining of the colon - there are other issues that can cause this too. You're best bet is to follow up with your doctor to better identify what's causing this as this allows you to come up with a good treatment plan.

Blood per rectum: If you see fresh red blood after a bowel movement, you need to be seen by a physician. Bleeding can come from hemorroides (h), lesions of the rectum or distal colon. If h are not the cause, you may need to have a colonoscopy to find its cause and arrive at a cure. Good luck.

Many possibilities: Usually due to a hemorrhoid which is swollen vein around the anus, or a tear in the anal opening. Either problem can be caused by constipation and hard stools, and sometimes by diarrhea. Hemorrhoid medications will help this heal along with stool softeners to prevent any further hard stools. It is wise to have her doctor check it out, as it sometimes is coming from internal bleeding.
