A member asked:

My physician doesn't want to put me on insulin unless it's the last resort, if victoza (liraglutide) is working, could it be a permanent treatment?

Victoza (liraglutide): If you don't need insulin you most likely have type 2 diabetes. Believe or not you are not a "diabetic" - you have diabetes and with appropriate diet and exercise you should work towards getting rid of diabetes. Takes some effort but well worth while. If you have type 1 diabetes you need insulin!
