Muscle relaxant: Mivacurium is a medication used during general anesthesia to relax muscles. It takes effect quickly and has a relatively short duration compared to other muscle relaxants such as vecuronium or rocuronium. It is given only into a vein, and must be used only by anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, or anesthesiology assistants trained in providing general anesthesia as it stops breathing.
