Tragus infection: Tragus is absolutely a very dangerous place to pierce and have an infection because it tracks deep down to the facial nerve and can cause significant complication. Please remove the foreign body immediately. Once there is an infection, it will not clear even with antibiotics until the hardware is removed. Bacteria form biofilm on foreign body, which will not respond to antibiotics or irrigation.
